Toppmöller arrived at Lens in July on a long-term contract running until 2028. Before that, he had been in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt, a post he took up in July 2023 and left in January to move to France. His coaching career also includes spells as an assistant at Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, experience that backed his move to a title-winning project like Lens.
