Speaking at a press conference after the announcement, the coach reflected on the values that have shaped his project. He explained that during Euro 2024 the squad began to lean on a word that brought them security, confidence and strength: family. The new contract locks De la Fuente in for the next three major international championships. First comes Euro 2028, for which Spain still need to secure qualification. The manager has delivered two major trophies in the space of two years.
